Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. (1 Peter 5:8)

On the cross, Jesus broke the power and bondage of Satan over human lives. Through Jesus our Lord, we now live in freedom and liberty as children of God! Jesus has won the battle and we stand firm in Him -- It is finished!

A devotion introduction for June

Life is basically a struggle, never conforming to our rosy idealism or to the romanticism of our songs. We see our struggle as a conflict against other men and women, and even against ourselves. But the Bible teaches that the battle is not against flesh and blood; it lies deeper than that. What we are experiencing is a battle between the kingdom of God and the kingdom of Satan.

Jesus warns that without him we are but helpless victims under the control of Satan, the strong man. But the good news is that through his cross and resurrection, Jesus has broken the power and bondage of Satan over human lives. Through Jesus our Savior and Lord, we now live in freedom and liberty as children of God! Jesus the Overcomer has won the battle — It is finished!
