Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. What is the 'curriculum of life' that we need to learn and pass on to our children? The answer is, 'Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord; and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.' That is the curriculum. It all centers around the fact that God is the beginning of life.

A devotion introduction for January

We all need a curriculum of life, not only for ourselves but also for our families. We need a road map that guides us through the many areas of life so that we know how to walk and how to live as followers of Jesus. Scripture has a lot to say about how we should live, and we would do well to pay attention and follow the truths offered to us. God wants us to know his will, and we live our best lives if we follow what he says.
